At the frozen pond in Bowness Park, Evan fed the birds some bread. They wanted more. Always, more.

long exposure in the tunnel leading to the Zoo’s main entrance under the C-Train and Memorial Trail.

I took the bus and train this morning, chickening out of riding the icy paths – I’ll ride again on Tuesday (yay, long weekends!).
This was the first time I’ve taken the train from the new Crowfoot station. The whole trip, from the minute I stepped onto the bus near my house, to the minute I stepped off the train on campus, took less than half an hour.
Of course, I can ride it in exactly the same time…

the cold isn’t bad. the wind just makes for a better workout. but the ice? no fun at all.

the duck pond on campus was drained yesterday. there are still ducks left (in the rocks near camera centre), but I’m guessing they’ll take the hint and start flying south today.

waves of snow move through the city – this was during a lull between pockets of intense snow. thankfully, it has all melted on contact with the ground. so far…

wind was gusting up to 90km/h in the city today, blowing most of the leaves away. this was the strongest wind I’ve ever ridden in – stronger even than the gusts down by Lundbreck.

Evan waits with his friends and cousins, getting ready to start the birthday party at the Calgary Gymnastic Centre at Canada Olympic Park.
