I’m torn on whether to split the Links posts from the main feed. Is it too noisy? Do the Links posts drown out the “real” posts? Does that matter?
I’m really just pulling the daily links here to make a single place for me to search stuff – posts, links, etc… – so I suppose there’s no real reason to have the Links posts also going out on the main feed for the blog. Asides are already completely separate (don’t show on main page, don’t show in main feed, having a separate feed just for them) so it’d be pretty easy to set Link posts up to do the same.
Thoughts? Much babbling about nothing?

Are you doing them as the same kind of post and treating them different visually or pulling them in from another service like Delicious?
You could consider just doing them as part of your post stream but giving them a slightly different design. Doug Bowman does a nice job of using the Wordpress plugin, postalicious.
You can see it in action on his homepage at http://stopdesign.com/ but then that might not be at all what you’re driving at.
The links start out at del.icio.us and get posted here into the “Links” category every day. Posts in that category are not displayed on the front page of the blog, so currently they only show up on the Links category page, in searches, and in the RSS feed.
actually… the more I think about it, the more it makes sense for the links to not be in the main RSS feed – there’s already an rss feed for my del.icio.us account, so it’s redundant.
I don’t mind getting them. It’s not my top priority for reading. But when I get time, I have taken a look and learned some things. (Which is usually a good thing.) My vote is for “Much babbling about nothing?.”
I kinda like them, no point in spliting
I have your feed in my daily aggregator (Drupal) and I would appreciate it to split off the links category. It’s not that I don’t like them, it’s just the amount.
Honestly – I mostly get yr stuff in delicious anyways, and so I’m mostly treating the ‘Links’ posts (as well as those by other friends, aheam, brlamb, ahem) as more noise and just scrolling past.
Looking at the RSS feed, I’ve decided the Link-noise isn’t worth it. It drowns out “real” posts, rendering the feed basically useless (and redundant, as Scott points out).
The Links posts have their own feed here at http://www.darcynorman.net/category/links as well as an un-digested raw feed at http://feeds.delicious.com/v2/rss/dnorman?count=15
Asides are still at http://www.darcynorman.net/category/aside
I suppose the aggregation of Links onto my blog is mostly for myself anyway – a searchable backup of links stored on delicious.com
The überfeed of darcynorman.net – including all posts, links and asides, is at http://www.darcynorman.net/feed/rss/?cat=840%2C1345%2C1289%2C681%2C884%2C749%2C1288
