iPod Touch now bricked?

The App Store just said that Scrabble had an update. I said “sure. update that sucker.” After it was done, the iPod crashed. Now, it won’t boot up. Just the black screen with the shiny Apple logo. It’s a nice logo and all, but please frack off and give me my iPod back. I’ll have to do a sync with my laptop when I get home. I haven’t run a sync for awhile because it takes so fracking LONG to update. Hope I don’t lose anything…

I’m having the same problem. It’s complete bricked during installation of a Sudoku application. Have force quite and reboot - but the same apple logo comes up, then crashes iTunes. Didn’t expect this from Apple!! Their latest update 2.1 was supposed to fix crashes, and its only made it worse!!

Same problem here. I tried to install an eBook reader last night and it flashed and went to the apple logo.

I can’t do anything with it. I did the Home and power button combo thing to reboot, but it just sits at the logo. I plug it into the PC to try and restore or something from iTunes, and iTunes ‘appears’ frozen (hard to tell the way iTunes works). I’ve let it sit for 3 hours, nothing.

Have you guys figured out anything to resolve it yet?

I wound up resurrecting it after nuking it and doing a fresh install. The Reset mode trick worked, but it took a LONG time - be sure to let it run overnight… There are some instructions that should work.
