I say put it out there, exorcism or not. There’s really nothing else and our time is short. Why waste it censoring yourself?

Or don’t worry about pressuring yourself and wait until you have something that bubbles over and must be said.

Write it out, on paper, on the screen, wherever you want. Then decide if you want to publish it or not. Blogging, like all writing, needs the desk drawer where we store our angst that needs to be released but really shouldn’t see the light of day.

I haven’t been in the blogosphere long, but it would seem to me if you have a gripe, g’head and get it off your chest. Time is OK for adding a bit of tact, or if you need a break, but surely anyone who writes all the time can say something that might be hurtful, but not have it be personal?

In all seriousness, I have been reading Dostoevsky’s The Idiot for a little while now, and it comes highly recommended if you’re into the whole brooding Russian nihilistic visioning thing. The way in which the characters argue, dialogue, converse, and banter about the state of the world reaffirms the moral imperative of blogging for me, despite the pain and self-imposed censorship. It won’t cheer you up by any means, but it may spark some insane immediacy to what we are all really racing towards these days.

Anyway, you couldn’t start blogging soon enough in my book.

D’Arcy- stop thinking of it as blogging- and just think of it as sharing thoughts with friends- or storing things for reference later-
you run across so much more stuff than the rest of us- and always have such an interesting twist on things- life won’t be the same without your posts…
de-funkify now, please.

btw- the new employee has the Canon 1D mark III- with the full size sensor- a real beast, but once you see the display on the back – and the big bright viewfinder- OMG- you’ll be addicted (sorry). Thing has a wicked fast 10fps motordrive- and the file sizes are MONDO- but- it makes my Digital Rebel XT seem like a toy…… do not touch- you’ll want one.
