The first thing that hit me was that they may wind up following some of the themes of Gregory Benford, ala Great Sky River. I hadn't realized GSR was part of a series. Now I have to read the rest of it :-)

i only briefly thought dream sequence before deciding Ron was better than that. the network was pretty gutsy to run with it from the get-go. glad they're still banking on him.

Uh .. great .. although I guess that would get my wife interested in the series for the first time ..

Coincidentally, the Dalls movie is apparently going to be shot in Calgary

Can't hold back anymore. In what is an obvious homage to Dallas, the last scene of the BSG Season 2 finale was Bobby Ewing waking up in a cold sweat - he dreamed the whole thing! Season three will pick up back in Texas... Brilliant!

Thanks for not spoiling it D'Arcy. I am loving the show, good to know it only gets better. I tried to buy the episodes from iTunes but it seems they don't want my money. Those wicked torrents are calling to me ...

As someone living a long, long way from the hub of BSG broadcasting (Australia hasn't even started season two yet ... *sigh*), I commend your spoiler free gushing about the finale. However, as someone who may occassionally be seduced by the torrents of ye olde interweb, can I just say that adding "50 completely reboot!!" certainly leaves you waiting for more! :)

I concur, excellent end to Season 2. What could have been 3 or 4 episodes of melodrama on other shows got executed brilliantly in about 10 or 20 minutes. Leaving a nice canvas for season 3.

@Tama I don't know about you folks in Oz but the pickings are getting thinner and thinner on the regular airwaves and I'm past the point of waiting for better stuff to randomly find it way to my cable box. I figure the best way to deal with what I don't like is to vote with my feet - or in this case - the finger on my remote.

Don't forget this classic article by Mark Pesce on BSG's relationship with BitTorrent: http://www.mindjack.com/feature/piracy051305.html.

I pay an ungodly sum of money each month for cable TV, who have a monopoly where I live in a mountain's shadow which blocks the airwaves of NYC. I made a choice to live here, so I won't complain about that. But BSG is only on at 10 PM on Friday, primetime for social goings on, and Monday at 11 PM, primetime for catching up on sleep lost during the weekend.

I could sum this up by saying that I don't have the time to watch it on SciFi's schedule. Sure, another $10/month gets me a DVR, but then I can't watch during downtime on the road, or before playing hockey, or on a TV sans DVR. Okay, this is a total rationalization. "I am just time-shifting content for which I have already paid." Yes, I could buy the show from iTMS. But that feels like paying twice for the content.

Can't someone fix this model and not make me feel like a chump?

I am beginning to think that I should abandon cable TV and just buy from iTMS.
