One future feature will be advances more where you loose the WYSIWYG and have control over the type of formatting (XHTML/BBCODE/etc.) Also, when you click on a history item, to edit it you need to click on the "Publish as Edit' button, which will infact edit that post. To publish an edited post hit the "publish as edit" button, not the publish button otherwise it posts as a new entry as you say. The HTML editing box uses built in mozilla functionality I believe, what problems did you find with the HTML? Keep an eye on it, we only just released the first version and there will be another release as early as end of this week.
