Who would kill a blog? Someone that does not keep it up. Hopefully this one will start up again.

Any news on when they're going to bring back the blog? Or if they're publishing somewhere else?

Sounds like a plan, D'Arcy you want in, or are you going to wait it out?

"But there’s a part of me that’s worried that bloggers are just shut-in losers who have no life. Is that being paranoid?"

Perhaps a bit, I think we ought to prove them wrong and be the hip crowd, with goatee (check) drinking expresso (double check) :)

Well... I'm a parent of a 3-year-old, so I may qualify as a shut-in ;-) Hopefully, not the loser part, though. And I do like my espresso, often leaving a caffeine mustache on my goatee as well. I did play a fair bit of D&D back in my jr. high school days, though... I still have the DM guides and paraphernalia in my basement.

There are other special interest groups for straight techno stuff (java users groups, mac users groups, etc...) so not sure if that's a niche that needs to be filled. I'd be up for a Calgary Bloggers Meetup, though.

Yeh, the tapioca orbs aren't for everyone. I love 'em, jjust like I soaked up the bubble tea in Taiwan.

And as for a tech mtg, combine that with a bloggers group, and you got a deal. I read somewhere that bloggers are the new D&D players, back in the day. I wasn't nerdy enough back then, but I did watch.

I have been thinking we really need to help Calgary develop the tech community in Calgary. Like have a monthly meeting where IT people can get together to just mingle and possibly present some little blurb? Something informal.
