So, we're following your lead with out blogs@ist project. Just last week we were banging the hell out of b2 evolution and liked it but have now moved our attention to drupal. We have it up and running with accounts for everyone at the Solutions Institute ... they're just old fashioned drupal accounts as our IT group hasn't opened the doors to the ldap server yet ... just have to wait for that. One thing that would be great (in your spare time ;-) ) is a post about what components you're planning on using with drupal. The big complaints I've gotten, just from my staff, is related to the depth of stuff in drupal.

Its a great system, but it is complex and doesn't do a great job of differentiating what content type does what. Keep us posted on the progress ... great project to get rolling. I am also curious as to your adoption rates and what you're doing to drive people to the space. I think its going to be really interesting to see how/if people use these spaces for supporting their courses. We use the ANGEL LMS at PSU and people (in general) use it only because its there ... I am hoping a solid alternative to collaborative software will impact our classrooms. So many great research angles here, D'Arcy. Good stuff!

Cole, I'm planning on doing some kind of uptake analysis (informal of course) and will share it with the Rest of the Class.

I did decide to turn off a bunch of node-type modules, including Story, Forum, etc... At the moment, I have blog, book, poll, and organic group as "content" types. I've got a few other modules installed for providing additional info, but tried to at least initially limit the content types.

As soon as I stabilize the setup a bit, I'll write something up listing the modules I'm using.

D'Arcy.. I downloaded and tried Zempt. Its a sweet application, actually!

I downloaded and installed it on my machine. The only thing I had to do was point it to my weblog (one of them), remember my username and password (not an easy thing, actually...) and it found all of the weblogs I am subscribed to as an author on our MT server. Pretty cool.

I was just saying last week that I wanted a better HTML editor for the weblogs... and there I now have it.

Neat...
