		<description>I feel your pain.  I tried to do the same thing.  Appearantly you got farther than I did though because I couldn&#039;t get anything to save at all.  THe linux piece seems like a neat trick, but far from actually usable on a daily basis.  FYI, I&#039;ve used the Griffin iTalk for a few podcasts and it does a decent job.  Plus, you can plug a microphone into it.  It&#039;s still recording at 8khz, iPod limitation, but it&#039;s not terrible.  As to using a microphone on your computer, I&#039;ve looked long and hard and it seems that USB is the way to go.  I&#039;ve tried a few others and not had very good results.
